Nearly four and a half months after the previous coach's first press conference as the club's manager, successor the German coach faced the media at Ibrox for the first time.

The scale of the challenge ahead of him is well known, given his predecessor's chaotic and disappointing four-month tenure.

The former Wednesday manager was accompanied by club chairman the chairman, along with the much-criticized pair of football director Kevin Thelwell and chief executive Stewart.

But what exactly did we learn from the young coach's first public appearance as Rangers boss?

Rohl's Main Priority - Winning Comes First

A single message came through clearly from the new coach's initial presentation before the Scottish media - he understands the need to win matches, and achieve this rapidly.

The previous manager Martin managed just 17 games and four months as manager, so the question emerged about what timeframe the new man believes is realistic to transform the underperforming team.

Although deftly sidestepping a specific response that might create future pressure, the coach's message was very evident.

"Hopefully as soon as possible," he stated. "This is crucial.
"In this business you have limited opportunity. One can talk about long-term vision but we know it's about immediate results and that period is about winning games. This is what I demand.
"Another aspect is also obvious - I need all players to comprehend our intended to play. I return to my main theme: it's winning, it's attractive and unity. By following this order, I'm convinced that I'll stay very long here."

The previous manager needed security protection to leave the stadium after his final game in charge.

We've seen how toxic situations can become at football clubs when performances decline. Demonstrations have almost become a regular aspect of game day atmosphere on each part of Glasgow these days.

As the club's most youthful manager in history, the inquiry asked about which attributes Rohl believes he has that would allow him to handle, never mind thrive, in one of the most pressurized roles in UK soccer?

"In my opinion expectations in this business is normal," he stated. "One needs to understand that rapidly.
"I think certain individuals might mention my age but I have been 16 years in this career. I experienced an excellent chance to work with the German club and serve as only an assistant coach, but I felt the reality to manage a team and the pressure involved.
"You begin winning games and then certain people claim you need to produce entertaining football. That becomes the stage but precisely what I want. I enjoy those expectations and I'm excited about what's ahead."

The media pack had numerous inquiries from journalists for Thelwell.

Significant attention has focused on the appointment of his son as head of recruitment, with supporters skeptical about his credentials for the role.

Nevertheless, he justified and clarified the choice to bring his son to the club.

"It's always uncomfortable to listen and in appearance I think everyone understood when we took this decision to hire Robbie that he'd be viewed negatively," Thelwell said.
"The truth of the situation is that we want to attract the very best talent to this club.
"My view on his professional path and background is he didn't need family help in soccer.
"He served at Villa as head scout, he then joined Norwich City as head of scouting and then got promoted to development role.
"Prior to our hiring him, two top division clubs wanted to sign him. What we did right at the beginning of proceedings was consult with Patrick, Andrew and deputy chairman Marathe about this situation.
"I was extremely transparent and I believe he likely experienced a stricter procedure than anybody else employee by this football club.
"I'm certain is that he will work 25/8 to be successful for Rangers and I anticipate seeing him proving that he'll become a valuable staff member for Rangers."

Additionally, Thelwell supported the acquisition of forward Chermiti, who arrived at Rangers for an alleged first payment of £8m, after failing to find the net in 24 appearances for Everton.

It was Thelwell who brought the Portugal young international to Liverpool from Sporting Lisbon - again for significant money in a £15m deal.

He was asked if he supports his multi-million pound purchase, who is yet to register in seven outings for Rangers.

"Yes, very much so," Thelwell answered. "I believe the striker is a player who's got great ability.
"I haven't questioned him in any way. Again, I think Danny will assist in maximize the potential out of Youssef.
"These are initial stages for him, he remains promising prospect and of course with inexperienced players they sometimes take time.
"However, I'm convinced throughout of his career here he's going to prove that he's a highly capable footballer."

The CEO Acknowledges Fan Disappointment and Hurt

The chief executive was facing firing line, considering the criticism that has been directed his way by some club fans.

There was even a banner in the Sandy Jardine stand during the last tie with Dundee United inviting him - and the sporting director - to depart before being removed for them.

Like his football director, the CEO did not evade the topic.

"I completely understand the disappointment and anger that fans are feeling because results recently haven't been expectations and nobody's satisfied with those," he said.
"The hurt and disappointment they feel is mirrored within the boardroom.
"Recognize that there must exist an outlet for that dissatisfaction and as chief executive, that's me.
"I serve as lightning rod for those and my role as a
