A spiritual leader has described the moment when a person tried to break into his Manchester Jewish temple during a fatal attack, saying "I witnessed malevolence, I observed animosity".

The spiritual leader explained that he and others held the doors of the temple as the assailant was "forcing the entrances, hurling weighty flower containers, attempting everything he could to enter".

Praising the fast-acting of those at the synagogue, he said: "I observed real courage, I have to say, and individuals who rushed to help other people rather than escaping. It was amazing."

A 53-year-old man, and Another individual, both died after the assailant hit pedestrians and stabbed a individual on the day of the incident.

The spiritual leader stated that the event occurred before the religious service was in underway, and afterwards there would have been many of attendees in the congregation.

Talking to reporters, the cleric said he would do his best to offer support to the relatives of those who died and the broader community.

"We feel fear but there is also support", he stated.

"I think and wish that we can offer comfort and hope. I am certain very deeply that we should not permit this to overcome us".

The prime minister and observers have praised the spiritual leader and the security guards as "courageous people" for their deeds.

When questioned if he considered himself as a brave person, he said: "I don't believe that is accurate".

However, a bystander at the location stated the spiritual leader had been composed during as he and fellow members led the assembly to safety.

The relatives of Mr Daulby has also offered praise to their "brave individual" who died during "the act of bravery to protect other people".

"His relatives is shocked by the devastating, abrupt demise of such a wonderful modest person" the statement added, as the loved ones requested for seclusion to process their loss.
