A coalition of 74 advocacy, legal, and faith-based groups across the United States has sounded warnings regarding the withholding of eighty-eight million dollars in public money allocated for individuals escaping forced labor.

"Letting these funds to disappear would allow exploitation to flourish and threaten lives," the letter states. "Numerous areas will be without their primary support network, abandoning individuals with nowhere to turn for shelter."

The alliance is asking Congress to push the executive branch to restore the funding to support numerous trafficking survivors throughout the US.

This request comes after findings that the national leadership has scaled down programs to combat human trafficking, although representatives reject any withdrawal on anti-trafficking policies.
